The R-7 first flew in 1957 and carried Sputnik into orbit. Its descendants carried Gagarin, then Voskhod, then every Soyuz crew since 1967. Nearly seventy years later the same architecture is still flying — four strap-on boosters and a core that ignite together on the pad, twenty combustion chambers producing 4.14 MN at lift-off, and a staging separation so distinctive it has its own name: the Korolev Cross.

This print reconstructs the vehicle the way a design bureau would present it. A full side elevation of the Soyuz-2.1a, a numbered components overview from launch escape system down to the strap-ons, the RD-107A engine in detail, the engine layout viewed from aft, and the Soyuz MS spacecraft broken into its orbital, descent and service modules. Around the drawings run the sequences — ascent and staging with timings, rendezvous and docking, and the descent under parachute to a soft landing on the steppe. A side panel traces the R-7 family from Sputnik through Vostok, Voskhod, Molniya and Soyuz-U to the vehicle in service today.
